Now I know why people count sheep before they sleep because they are too afraid to just dream…

Everything in this world is a social construction. Our mindless acceptance of these social constructions consequently create many sheeps, but no shephards.

With honesty comes respect
What characterizes a better friend? A friend who is completely honest with you and who will tell you the truth even if it hurts; or a friend who can not tell you things directly because they are afraid of the consequences.
I wish people who were once considered, in faith, as friends, could give back the love, integrity, and understanding you showed them. Life really is a BITCH sometimes.

Try to not contradict yourself or undermine your own principles, see how long you last. Depending on how long you last will give you a good sense about your character.
-
To all, if you have an argument, be prepared to back it up with rational evidence. If not, then all you have is an opinion. There is nothing wrong with opinions, but there is something wrong if it is untrue, irrational, or incapable of facilitating intellectual debate. We all make judgments sometimes that are irrational and simply, arrogant. It is just a matter of balancing humility, not in the sense that you should not express your opinion, but rather being being able to determine what to say and what to do.

There is a difference between the one who rents a house, and the one who owns a house. The one who rents a house doesn’t care if the walls crack and crumble, they can always move to another house.
The one who owns a house knows that no one else will take care of it, thus they paint the walls and mend the cracks.
More than 60% of Kenya’s population consists of young men and women like us.
The problem is that we behave like tenants of Kenya. We have let the older generation tear this country apart. We have let them use us to fight their battles. We have let them loot this country. We have let them fool us into thinking that we’re not fit to run this country ourselves.
So we hide in our alcohol, in our religions and on the Internet as if there is some other Kenya out there that we shall move to when this one crumbles. We sit at home and wait for others to fight for us on the streets.
We want green cards instead of voter’s cards. We are angry, but we are too scared to do anything about it. It is not Obama’s job to save this country. It is not the donors’ job, and the government has shown that it is not their job, either. Responsibility is not shared, it is earned.
Freedom is not given, it is taken. When we decide we want freedom, we will have to get it ourselves.
Because if this country burns, we burn with itSubmitted by tobespiritual

I talked to my one of my bestfriend’s today who is half way around the world in South Africa. It was just the motivation and drive I needed to keep me focused. I started to remember who I am and the goals I set for myself. Without saying it, he reminded me to keep on moving, never let anyone break my stride or mask me. I am half way there, and I am proud of all the accomplishments I have achieved thus far. I cannot let anything hold me back from my dreams, I got to keep the lights on for my mom and keep putting food on my plate. We imagined what it would be like to be roommates downtown while being graduate students at U Of T, living under the same roof like when I first moved to Canada with my mom. Although we live completely different lifestyles and have opposite friends, I imagined how crazy it would be, fulfilling, and how much good friends can learn and feed off each other. A small circle is always good because you can appreciate your real friends a lot more. Times may be hard now, but happiness is coming soon. I have alot of blessings, I need to start appeciating them more. These blessings won’t make miracles though, what I do with them will.
